The Memory of Old Days

Redefining Home with a Vintage Playful Theme and a 1960s Time Period Backdrop

The project seamlessly blends retro elements with a backdrop that symbolizes freedom and rebellion, connecting the cultures of Taiwan, Hong Kong, Europe, and the United States. The space reimagines vintage influences—such as space exploration, pop art, and floral tiles—through a time-based lens, evoking nostalgic memories while fostering new interactions. Notable features include a bamboo-woven entryway, a living room with multifunctional furniture, and a sunlit dining area that incorporates retro jade green cabinets and elegant arches. The master bedroom uses movable rattan doors to enhance spatial flow, while the guest room creates a playful, hotel-like atmosphere with red brick walls and quirky design accents. Drawing inspiration from Japanese tea ceremonies, the elder room exudes tranquility with wooden materials and iron window patterns. The older son's room combines bold black tones with metal elements, while the younger son's space evokes space exploration through futuristic design and reflective materials. The sunlit living room, featuring European vintage design and an arched ceiling, adds vibrancy and charm to the home. The fusion of old and new reinterprets retro aesthetics, creating a timeless and unique living environment.
