Shuttles of Light I

Warm Light Enters, Connecting the Beautiful Living Space of the Family

This project is a detached house designed to create a harmonious living environment for a three-generation family. The design concept begins with the house’s raw, unfinished state, focusing on maximizing natural light throughout the home. By minimizing partition walls and staircases, the layout opens up more free space and allows light to flow freely through all levels. The top floor, bathed in natural light, serves as an independent yet interconnected space for the couple. A mezzanine level with floating steel stairs introduces light and connects the upper and lower areas. The upper level features a serene sleeping area with soft lighting, and a hallway with views of the sky, providing a bright, airy spot for changing. The lower level includes a peaceful living area and a study, both illuminated by tall windows. The mezzanine serves as both a connector and a source of comfort, enhancing the flow of light and life throughout the home.
