The Shining Conclusion of the Year! Interdisciplinary Glory in the International Design Competition

We are honored that The Taste Journey, the design project for THOMAS CHIEN Restaurant, has been awarded the Bronze at the DFA Design for Asia Awards. It is a great privilege to stand alongside outstanding designers from around the world on this stage, recognized as the authority of Asian design.

This year, we have won the "dual award," becoming the only design company to achieve recognition in both spatial and industrial design. We are thrilled to demonstrate the breakthrough and professionalism of interdisciplinary design to the world.

GREEN GASTRONOMY

Hailed for its pioneering approach to sustainability, this Michelin-green-starred restaurant blends French elegance with local Taiwanese traditions. The design draws inspiration from Kaohsiung’s harbour, featuring fluid lines and eco-conscious elements like reclaimed oyster shells, fishing nets and steel furnace slag, transformed into furniture and décor through 3D printing. The innovative layout, with sweeping curves and arc-shaped pergolas, creates a seamless connection between dining and nature, promoting sustainability through both culinary ingredients and architectural materials.

DFA Design for Asia Awards is the flagship programme of the Hong Kong Design Centre, established in 2003. It focuses on human-centered solutions, advocates for Asian societal values, and highlights the most influential designs. Award winners are regarded as practitioners of creativity and innovation, inspiring the future development of design in Asia.
