Aftertaste of Multi-Roasted
A Living Space Inspired by the Concept of a Barista and a Cocktail Bar
For the owner, the home is more than just a resting place—it is a sanctuary to unwind, reconnect with oneself, and heal. This apartment is located right in front of a park, and the floor plan is inspired by a coffee island, combining the dining room, study, and living room into one open space. The folds of the ceiling extend from the island, covering the beams and expanding the visual space.
While making coffee or cocktails, the owner can enjoy the view and engage in conversation with family members. During the day, the space conveys a peaceful atmosphere, with wooden shutters that allow for adjustable light and help soften the strong sunlight from outside. The materials used in the space, such as brick, symbolize the spirit of the space—burned by intense fire, it presents a natural, dynamic, and evolving feel, much like the multi-layered taste of coffee roasted at different levels. Dark wood and grey tones define the boundaries of the open area, creating a contrast like the layers in a latte. However, blending these elements creates a new experience, and the aftertaste of this space brings a sense of joy and satisfaction.
